Voices from undergroundzero was a theater festival created by Paul Bargetto and Christine Richter Nilson of New York City based playwrights in September on 2008 at Theater Bielefeld in Germany. The festival spanned three days and presented nine plays in German translation in staged readings and productions, lectures, round tabs discussions and parties. A book was published with all the plays in German by Theater Der Zeit with a forward written by Helen Shaw. The playwrights included in the festival were Sheila Callaghan, Anne Washburn, Emily Conbere, Saviana Stanescu, Thomas Bradshaw, Michael Yates Crowley, Steven Fechter, and Sarah Hammond.
